Drawmachine will be returning from hiatus on May 20th with glorious, shiny new art! Thanks for sticking around. We have a lot of fun challenges planned for our artists, and this summer looks like it’s going to be a really good one. See you soon!

Anonymous asked: Hi. I have a sort of unique query and was hoping you could help me out here. I am an international student applying to SVA for fall semester 2013 and the SVA admissions have been reaaallly unresponsive. I was wondering whether you could link me to the tumblr of any successful interntaional student that you know of - so I could receive the slightest bit of help with a question here and there regarding the application process. It would be much appreciated, i'm really disappointed in SVA's service
I can do better - if you message me non-anon I can provide you with one of my friend’s e-mail addresses, she said she would be willing to answer any questions you might have the best she can. I’m working on asking around for any other international students I know that may be able to help you out as well. -Amanda

“Why birds, Master Amanda?” “A bird shit on my drawing when I was young, Alfred. It’s time my enemies knew my dread.”
Aatmaja Pandya illustrates the Week 13 prompt - create a situation of monumentally good or monumentally bad luck.
(MOD STORY TIME: For one of our first assignments in our drawing class this year, we had to draw a storefront on-location. I, Amanda Scurti, sat on a bench in a park and proceeded to draw. Just as I was about to be finished, a bird in the tree above me who apparently deemed my work unsatisfactory had a poo. All over my drawing. I brought the drawing to class, along with a redone one, just to show my professor my misfortune. Before I could explain what happened, however, he went and TOUCHED THE DRAWING WITH THE POO ON IT. My mortification was only matched by his declaration that he was glad I redid the drawing because the first one was awful, even without the “embellishment.”)
